Serve as editor in chief of corporate website, ebayinc.com; write, edit and publish compelling original content that helps visitors better understand our business and culture.
Serve as a corporate reporter for key business events and programs (turning the coverage into stories for ebayinc.com)
Manage the relationships with corporate website authors and subject matter experts.
As part of the Digital Publishing team, drive a single editorial process for both internal and external channels, including the corporate website and intranet; collaborate closely with editorial team and business units on a consolidated editorial calendar and publishing schedule.
Edit and proofread, as needed, other corporate communications materials such as press releases, speeches, presentations and messaging documents.
Provides editorial support to business unit communications teams, as needed.
Develop and maintain a corporate editorial style guide and drive a strong point of view with regards to style, voice and tone.
Contribute, as needed, to developing executive communications, including speeches and presentations.
Work with IT and vendors to manage operation of the corporate website.
Job Qualifications
Exceptional writer and editor who can match his or her writing style to specific projects, ranging from web content to press releases to executive speeches
Fast writer who has a knack for snappy headlines and blurbs (and great intuition about what would make for compelling copy)
Familiarity with content management and online publishing systems and processes
Proven verbal communication skills, including communicating with others, listening effectively, interviewing and gathering information from sources at all levels in the organization, and working with varying levels of staff
Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment
Experience working under pressure and managing multiple projects at once
Highly flexible and adaptable, with a strong attention to detail
