Job Description

This requisition is for a full time position within the Loss Forecasting Team as a Senior Analyst/Manager. This individual contributor role will be tasked with supporting the delivery of detailed analysis, forecasting of transaction losses and loss mitigating initiatives. This position entails detailed transaction data, historical loss analysis, and working closely with various partnering organizations using in-house produced tools and aides. The individual is expected to compile and communicate the loss forecasts, their drivers, and revisions to previous periods’ forecasts, in a detailed form to a host of organizations which will use this information for various planning, budgeting, and initiative prioritization exercises.
Job responsibilities:
Execute monthly transaction loss forecasts based on transaction loss data extracted from a Teradata database environment and a complex Excel based loss forecasting model
Conduct budget and forecast variance analysis to provide management insightful and actionable guidance.
Establish timely and accurate transaction loss targets/forecasts providing strong insights and guidance for management planning
Conduct intricate spreadsheet based analyses on transaction loss and initiatives’ data often using complex Excel features and functions
Support the management of a detailed transaction loss planning roadmap reflecting performance of all expected loss impacting initiatives and drivers
Monitor and communicate monthly transaction loss results to the organization providing visibility with risk management performance and drive accountability
Partner with Business Outcome Teams, Risk Product Development, FP&A, Risk Analytics & Forecasting, and other various teams within PayPal in understanding transaction loss drivers to provide succinct communication of monthly transaction loss results

Job Qualifications

6+ years of experience in Financial Services, Payment Transactions or other financial related industry with strong emphasis on analytical and project management experience.
Strong academic profile with an undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or Applied Sciences (graduate degree preferred)
Strong/expert skills in SQL, SAS or other database related query languages with experience in analyzing/handling large data sets.
Strong/expert skills in Excel and spreadsheet analysis with experience in handling and building complex formulas in Excel spreadsheets
Prior experience in Risk Management with emphasis on financial loss analysis and reporting is a strong plus
Ability to come up to speed quickly and a strong aptitude/passion for creative problem solving when dealing with ambiguity
Strong project management skills with attention to detail, a drive for research, and high accuracy of deliverables
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
A passion for understanding and serving unique community of PayPal and eBay
