Job Description

The Search Analytics team is responsible for providing analytic support for the eBay Global Search Team, the product team responsible for improving the search experience on eBay. The analytics team supports the Global Search team in several key initiatives.
We are currently looking for a Search Analytics Manager to join the team. This individual will utilize their exceptional analytic skills and strong presentation skills to evaluate product concepts, measure the performance of existing products, and work cross-functionally to prepare reports for ongoing monitoring. On a day-to-day basis, this individual will conduct extensive database analyses and partner with product management to guide their analytical needs. In the process, this person will develop a deep understanding of the Marketplaces businesses and eBay site functionality, further strengthen their analytic and presentation skills, and gain exposure to a wide variety of functional teams within eBay.
Responsibilities:


  • Inventory Sort Algorithm (aka “Best Match”)

  • Help design analyses with guidance from manager
Execute analyses using range of tools, including:

  • Internally-developed simulation tools

  • database analysis

  • drawing from experience using eBay.com

  •  Package and communicate findings to the broader analytics team and to product management

Testing Support

  • Using data-based approach to ensure flawless execution of A/B testing

  • Conduct behavioral analysis to provide explanations for key drivers of user behavior in A/B tests

  • Driving business insights from A/B testing on eBay.com

Job Qualifications

Skills in problem definition, rigorous analysis, and recommendation development will also be critical. Successful candidates will have exceptional interpersonal skills, initiative, and integrity.
Exceptional business judgment, data mining and quantitative analytic ability. Hands-on data analytics experience is a must
5+ years of experience, ideally at a leading management consulting firm, or corporation with a strong data-driven cultureStrong academic profile with an emphasis on quantitative coursework (e.g., degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Econometrics or Engineering).
Expert Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills; experience with database query tools (e.g., SQL); and a strong understanding of data warehouse architecture are required. Proficiency with statistical analysis tools (e.g., SAS, SPSS) is a plus.
Experience in product analytics is preferred but not required.

Job Salary

Salary commensurate with experience
