Quality Development Technical Lead

We are seeking a highly qualified QTL, Quality Technical Lead for our Customer Quality Organization.  The candidate will help define, implement, and manage QA processes throughout our Agile/Scrum Development.  These processes will apply to customer-facing, as well as internal systems, and will include documentation, planning, testing, user acceptance, and live-to-site troubleshooting of application defects and issues.  The QA DTL will drive these quality processes and best practices across the organization, with development, product managers, business development and customer advocates.  Must be a self-starter and able to perform with minimal supervision while working in a diverse team environment following Agile processes for software development.
Please note that we use Agile programming techniques, such as test-driven development, continuous integration and testing, and story-based iterative development to build better software and to build software in a better way. For most people in QA, this is a very different development environment than the typical process of "throwing code over the wall" for QA to test. QA engineers are part of the process with product managers and developers from the beginning and work in partnership to make sure that the code is high quality at all times rather than tested at the end.

RESPONSIBILITIES Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
*  Assist support staff in troubleshooting issues with existing applications as they arise. Test and retest solutions to ensure timely and quality response to user issues.
* Work with software development team to strengthen their ability to continually test code through the development process.  Assist in developing automated tests in partnership with developers and QA for continuous regression testing.
* Key participant in the overall planning of story-driven requirements in our Agile/Scrum process.  Work closely with our Platform QA team in capacity and resource estimates.
* Review overall development, execution and maintenance of manual and automated test procedures.  Leads development and maintenance of thorough and accurate documentation of work and communicates technical issues to QA leadership, Tech Leads, Project Managers and business stakeholders.
* Analyzes, evaluates, and plans methods of approach to solve problems central to an assigned research or programming project and the estimated resources for completion. May conduct independent research or, as directed, plan and conduct projects or phases of projects.
* Collaborate with fellow QA Engineers to 'front load' test case development and execution of those test cases as early as possible in the Sprint.  Participate throughout the design and development process, analyzing features to point out weaknesses or inconsistencies
* Provides leadership to other members of the team, provides guidance on QA best practices and to be the advocate for a structured and well designed QA approach to software development

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking candidates who can work at a fast pace, thrive in a dynamic environment, and demonstrate a record of achievement. Successful candidates will have:
* 8-10 years experience in software testing and/or software development
* Strong background in programming languages (Java, C++, scripting) and 5+ years in a development role
* Experience writing automated tests (not just record / playback) or programming experience with Java, JavaScript, or an equivalent object-oriented language is a must.  Experience in automation framework design and development and software design and development
* Bachelors degree in computer science or related field.
* Experience working in the Agile or Iterative development processes.
* Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills a must.
* Excellent software/system troubleshooting skills
