Job Description
Responsible for design of logical and physical database models. Support the development efforts for one or multiple diverse types of large database systems. Perform requirements analysis, data modeling and database engineering functions for relational database system(s). Perform database scalability and high availability analysis. Performing proof of concept test methodologies and certification of new database technologies. Work in a team environment and mentor other DBA’s.
Job Qualifications
1) Working with product development (PD) architects/developers to review new DB related features, schema design, object structure, data flow, and sql statements. 2) Working with PD to implement projects. 3) Documenting database standards and communicating it to the other database teams. 4) Performing database performance management. 5) Performing database scalability and high availability analysis. 6) Designing and implementing database infrastructure projects. 7) Certification and POC of new database technologies. 8) Providing third level support for database support teams. 9) Troubleshooting of most critical and complex database problems. 10) Performing root cause analysis and developing reproducible test case for core Oracle internal problems. 11) Training and mentoring of other DBAs. Minimum 7-9 years experience as Oracle DBA Minimum of 2 years experience with administering and supporting databases on 10g on AIX and Solaris Platform. Expert at database performance tuning and troubleshooting. Expert at Oracle internals and core concepts. Guru of SQL and PL/SQL Strong knowledge of Unix Shell and Perl languages. Working experience on Solaris and AIX is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with managing terabyte databases Experience with managing high volume OLTP databases.
