Work with engineering and researchers to discover, refine, develop and deliver machine learning algorithms to help buyers find what they want and need. Own the entire lifecycle of some of the most interesting and important aspects of eBay's 21st century merketplace.
You must be very bright and imaginative. You will be working with world class researchers to discover and refine algorithms. At times you will need to drive the research to conclusion and make some tough choices. Then you will write the PRD and work with engineering and QA to turn the research into a product that can run a billion times a day across all of eBay's properties. Finally, you will work with the release process and support teams to insure that the product is released successfully and any issues in production are resolved quickly.
You will be the owner of your domain. It will be your responsibility to choose the best options and make the hard choices. You need to be comfortable with the statistical analysis and willing to own your decisions.

Internal candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have successfully shipped products using eBay's Tracker and train based release methodology.
A background in statistics and computer science is preferred. A good understanding of project management and software lifecycle requirements is required. You should have a track record of shipping products and managing releases.
You will be expected to do product presentations for executives and be comfortable presenting.
Must have an education background rooted in math, science and statistics.
Should have some experience in computer programming with Java and perhaps SQL.
