Job Description
The Learning & Organization Development Analyst position requires analytical horsepower, strategic thinking, project management, and strong interpersonal skills. The position supports the talent management and performance management processes that touch nearly 20,000 eBay employees globally. The position also provides analytical and process support to the L&OD Director team aligned to eBay business units and functions. Responsibilities include the opportunity to contribute to reshaping of talent management and performance management measurement strategy as well as regularly producing and developing reports, conducting analyses and presenting data in a manner that is meaningful and relevant to clients. The successful L&OD Analyst demonstrates high standards of accuracy, possesses a curious and consultative mindset and takes ownership for identifying problems and using data to generate solutions. This individual thrives in a fast-paced team environment, is able to develop strong alliances with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization and fosters integration with local, regional and international colleagues. He/she reports to the Senior Manager of Talent and Performance Management.
Job Qualifications
Provides analytical, project and communications support for talent management, performance management processes and systems across the eBay, Inc enterprise
Applies reasoning and uses available technology and tools to examine information, interpret results and arrive at well-founded, logical conclusions.
Responsible for data analysis, spotting data trends, performing gap analysis, generating reports and communicating findings.
Proactively recommends improvements to current talent management and performance management measurement approaches and metrics collection processes.
Actively partners with relevant stakeholders; gathering and reviewing of critical inputs to the overall analysis requests and deliverables
Talent Management reporting and analytics responsibilities may include:
Develop a thorough understanding of talent management processes, gather inputs from stakeholders to determine what they need to “Know and Grow eBay Talent,” and translate this knowledge to tool and reporting requirements
Responsible for designing and producing reports for the enterprise as well as for L&OD Directors, as contracted (e.g. Marketplace, PayPal, Global Functions and Verticals L&OD teams).
Provide analysis of key talent metrics and trends in a timely manner
Contribute mindshare in the initial development of talent measurement approach and assist in creation of talent scorecard (e.g. bench strength, top talent, promotions and assignment management, etc).
Support the annual Organization and Talent Review process through data, analytics and flawless materials preparation
Performance Management reporting and analytics responsibilities may include:
Develop a thorough understanding of the performance management process, gather inputs from stakeholders and translate this knowledge to system and reporting requirements
Responsible for designing and producing regular reports (e.g. utilization metrics, quality checks, etc).
Provide analysis of key performance management metrics and trends in a timely manner
Ask thought-provoking questions, gather conclusions and articulate a point of view regarding steps to improve efficiency and effectiveness of Performance Management process and system
Based on analysis and insights, suggest improvements to training and communications approaches, in order to improve adoption and understanding of process and system; provide some support to development of training and communications
Respond to employee and manager inquiry regarding system and process-related questions (in cases where HR Portal and MyHR do not provide appropriate guidance).
Support ad hoc project/analysis requests as needed. Partners closely with Learning & Organization Development Directors who support eBay Marketplace, PayPal, Global Functions and Vertical businesses
